At the VAFI & RAFI festival, animated films compete in two sections – VAFI in which films made by children and young people up to 18 years of age compete, and RAFI in which professional animated films for children and youth in four categories for age groups compete. Upon completion of the applications, the selection committee will review the submitted animated films, and which films will enter the competition will be known in mid-April. More information on applications and the Festival itself can be found on the official website. Applications can also be made through the FilmFreeway platform.

Students of the University of North from the Department of Multimedia, Design and Application made, as part of the course Graphic Design, the poster and visual for the 13th VAFI & RAFI – International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival. This is the seventh academic year of cooperation between the University of North and the Film-Creative Studio VANIMA from Varaždin, the association that, together with the Public institution in culture Art-kino from Rijeka, organizes this event.

“My first associations of the Czech Republic, a partner country of the 13th edition of the VAFI & RAFI festival, were castles and architecture. I was inspired to make the posters by one of the most beautiful fairytale Czech castles called Hluboká. ”- said Nino Kostanjevec, a student from Lepoglava.

The organizers would like to thank all the students who participated in the task of creating visuals for this year’s festival, and especially the head of the Department of Multimedia at the University of North, Robert Geček on another successful collaboration.

Applications for this year’s edition of the festival have been going on for more than a month and so far, more than 500 films from all over the world have arrived. The organizers are expecting more of them and the application process lasts another month. The decisions of the selection committees will be announced in mid-April.
